“Potato Creek State Park” in North Liberty, Indiana - was rated: 7
As previously mentioned, the sites are very large. Not all are level - getting our 34′ trailer level front-to-back in our site was a bit of a challenge - but most are level enough for most rigs. No privacy between sites, but with lots of elbow room, it didn’t matter too much. The park is popular; it was almost 1/2 full during the week. Seems popular with groups (family/friends). Lots of trails, a nice lake to fish in (and with a swimming beach as well), and within an hour or so of many attractions: Amish country, RV factories, etc. Bathhouse capacity a bit inadequate for the number of sites, but kept clean enough. For an older county park, this was very nice. Good hiking trails and a lake for swimming and fishing. There were a lot of tent campers, popups and smaller RVs. A large RV will have trouble getting through the campground. Read more….
This is pretty much just a place to park your RV. Nothing to do in campground. It is clean and the folks are friendly. It is close to Columbus. Read more….
This was one of the nicest RV parks we stayed at on our 2 week trip. Very neat and clean and the people running the place were very friendly and helpful. We did not stay long (1 night) but it is always nice to stay in a campground that you really feel comfortable in. I saw another post that really flamed this spot and I can’t believe they are talking about the same campground. This place is great and the price is right! Read more….
Website said “expect to be impressed”, however we were sadly disappointed. The park’s not bad looking for west Texas. But depending on what site they put you in, you might have some trees and you might not. They have an indoor pool along with cable and WIFI that worked well (however only 8 minutes are Free then you have to pay). The first site they gave us was in a nice location and amply wide. However after getting everything all set up, we realized the breaker kept blowing for the AC. After working with this for several hours in the 100 degree heat, we determined the camper wasn’t getting enough power from the park. We were in a 30 amp site, so the park kindly moved us to a 50 amp site. But we were told to not get to attached to this site, as it was temporary until another monthly site would come available. This site worked the first night, but only by keeping our AC on low. Then the next day, once we got into the heat of the day, the breaker blew again. It wouldn’t even work on low. We tested the park power and once again it had dropped below the minimum voltage needed to run the AC. After complaining to the park, they suggested we leave since there was nothing they could to do for us. After first telling us that no one else was having these problem, they eventually told us they had been having problems with the power company not supplying enough power to run all their sites on a full load in the heat of the day. So depending on where you are parked, you might get enough power to run your AC and you might not. Read more….
The best word to describe this campground is overpriced. This was the most we paid on our 2 week trip and it was one of the poorer campgrounds. We like swimming pools and will pay extra for one but the pool and hot tub heaters were broken and the water was too cold to get in. We had Internet problems as did other posters to this site. We could connect for a while and then it went dead. The only thing this place has going for it is it’s proximity to the national parks. Way overpriced! Read more….
Rate is for a site with water & electric only. Average park with friendly staff and quiet area. Nicely located on road to Mt. St. Helens Rec Area (90 minute drive on excellent road to the east). Showers are twenty five cents for 6 minutes. Shrubs separate sites, paved roads, Cable TV had 50+ channels. Restraunt choices in area are limited, but pretty good food. Great Breakfast at the 49er near I-5. Would stay here again. Read more….
